Libby shows how she creates her beautiful and unique Sheer Ribbon illusion quilts.

Bobbin Drawing & Couching [Details]
Learn how to use heavy threads and trims to enhance your work. Libby will demonstrate and show slides of a variety of techniques.

Shapes: Simple to Spectacular [Details]
You can do all kinds of wonderful things using three basic shapes: squares, triangles and circles. You won't believe the results!

5 to 6 HOUR CLASSES (5 hr. classes are for Bernina shops, 6 hr for conferences)

One Day Pinatita Quilt Workshop [Details]
Bright, festive and simple to make describes Piñatita (“pee-nya-TEE-tah”). Spend a day playing with this fun technique. You’ll end up with blocks for the delightful quilt shown at left. If you prefer, the blocks can be used for colorful custom pillows or designer garment elements.

Threadplay I: the Basics [Details]
Learn the basics and tricks of machine embroidery to create special effects on your quilts or wearables.Techniques covered: sheer ribbon illusions, thread painting, and potluck applique.

Threadplay II: Prima Donnas [Details]
Learn how to use problem threads, shifty fabrics, and unusual notions to your advantage.Techniques covered: working with sheer fabrics, bobbin drawing, spray adhesives, couching, free-motion quilting, and binding.

Super Machine Stitching [Details]
Explore all the possibilities and variations of machine stitching. Class will cover anchoring, satin stitching, combining stitches, using a double needle and free-motion stitching.

Two For One Threadplay [Details]
Bring two fat quarters (or equivalent scraps), decorative threads, and trims and go home with at least two terrific small scale quilts. Spend a fun day doodling, cutting, fusing and stitching. You’ll amaze yourself and learn a lot, too!

Floral Delights [Details]
Choose one of these gorgeous flower panels to create a beautiful wall quilt. You will learn 3 stitching techniques; couching , bobbin drawing and decorative patterns. Libby will also show ideas for quilting, how to add the border and her quick and easy way to add binding with a special finishing touch. A perfect class for those who have been intimidated by their machines!

Sheer Delights [Details]
Making this charming wall quilt is a great way to learn 4 different stitching techniques; sheer applique, couching , bobbin drawing and free-motion quilting. Libby will also show you her quick and easy way to add binding with a special finishing touch.

TWO DAY CLASSES (5-6 HRS PER DAY)

Two-Day Pinata Quilt [Details]
Join the party for a great start on this festive 32” square wall quilt. Using luscious bright hued fabrics, bright decorative threads and the Circular Embroidery Attachment, you’ll love making these blocks. It’s fast, easy and fun, too. ¡Olé!

Threadplay Sampler [Details]
Learn a multitude of machine techniques while you make a beautiful sampler wall quilt. Techniques include easy chain piecing, crazy strips, mitering borders, reverse and top appliqué, thread painting, bobbin drawing and bobbin quilting, decorative and satin stitching, free-motion quilting, binding and couching. Whew!

Radiant Circles [Details]
This beautiful, intricate design makes an impressive quilt, and the Circular Embroidery Attachment makes it fun and so easy!

Extended Threadplay [Details]
Class is designed for students who want to go beyond tradition and try something new.We will cover innovative ways to come up with ideas, different methods of design, alternate construction techniques, and fun ways to embellish and personalize your quilts.

Class time will include group demos as well as individual instruction and critiques. Intermediate to advanced students.

Independent Study [Details]
This workshop is for self-directed students who want to work freely in a creative environment without the constraints of a curriculum.Libby will provide consultation and help as requested by participants.
